About This Work

Return to the Nude This graphite pencil drawing ‘Neo Deco – 24-06-25’ is a return to the nude. After the last celebrity moviestar and landscape drawings I thought it was about time. Not that I will be able to post them on Youtube or some other social media. Donald Trump is in town and he even sleeps over just 600 meters from where I live. Even now I won’t be able to ask him to ask Youtube for an exemption. So I keep on drawing nudes for the fun of it. Realy not worried about whether this cubist nude will be visible online. Sometimes I think it’s time to say social media goodbye or at least let the friendhip cool down. What is Wrong Just to keep the fires burning of what is wrong I would like to remind you of this thing. I get to see violent ads on Youtube all the time. On the other hand I see young girls pornograph themselves save for the tiniest of bikinis. At least they got their story covered so no visible full frontal nudity or nipple alerts. Last but not least, Meta sends or allows a lot of scammers to contact me through fake profiles. The story is always the same: if they can buy my artwork as nft. In fact, the majority of all people responding to my artworks on social media are scammers. What is your experience? Beautifully Diagonally All that remains for me is to keep on drawing and painting and forget about this social media jam. Do what I did for the last decade and that is good ol’ fashioned nudity. And there she was, a great model! She took this incredibly artistic pose which consist of a diagonally placed body across the paper. Such inspired me to let the body with these beautifully arranged limbs extend into the negative space. In other words, opening up forms. Almost as if she induces more forms outside herself. Graphite pencil (Faber Castell, Pitt Graphite Matt, 14B) drawing Talens Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) Artist: Corné Akkers
