Artist Statement:
Rinalds Vanadzins 1986) is an award-winning urban painter and graffiti artist whose creative roots are deeply connected to hip-hop culture. He has explored the graffiti and urban art scene before gradually focusing on visual art and painting.
His work is inspired by the rhythm and energy of city life, as well as the calm and atmosphere of nature. These contrasting environments shape his visual language and continue to influence his artistic journey.
Rinalds currently works as a scenic painter at the Latvian National Opera, where he further develops his skills in large-scale decorative and scenic painting. With more than 15 years of experience in street art and visual art, he has developed a distinctive approach to painting, working with aerosol paints, acrylics, markers and mixed techniques.
His practice combines the spontaneity and energy of graffiti with a more refined and detailed approach to painting. For Rinalds, the creative process is intuitive and meditative — a dialogue between instinct, emotion and the surrounding environment. His artworks explore themes of freedom, authenticity and the connection between the artist and the urban world around him.
