Artist Statement:
I create paintings that explore memory, atmosphere, and the quiet emotional power of place. As a retired Canadian naval officer living in Japan, my work is shaped by a lifelong relationship with water — from the open sea to the stillness of harbors and the glow of coastal light.
My nautical scenes, classic cars, and nostalgic landscapes are rooted in lived experience: the rhythm of a ship under sail, the hum of an engine on an empty road, the warmth of everyday moments that linger long after they pass. I work with tactile textures and luminous color to evoke a sense of presence — inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their own stories.
Collectors who value atmosphere, emotional depth, and a sense of timelessness will find my paintings well suited to spaces that celebrate calm, reflection, and personal narrative. Each piece is created with professional archival materials and ships securely from Japan with full tracking and care.
