More often than not, these pairings lead to a collaboration and enrichment of creative energies, but sometimes, they lead to tragic outcomes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9603\" style=\"width: 319px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:'Le_Passage'_by_Kay_Sage,_1956.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9603\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9603\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Le_Passage_by_Kay_Sage_1956-309x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"309\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com.au\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2011\/12\/Le_Passage_by_Kay_Sage_1956-309x400.jpg 309w, https:\/\/www.zatista.com.au\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2011\/12\/Le_Passage_by_Kay_Sage_1956.jpg 463w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-9603\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Le Passage by Kay Sage on wikipedia.org<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Artists are famously known for being \u201clone wolves,\u201d but when they do find a suitable mate, the ups and downs of the creative life are intertwined with the ups and downs of domestic life.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9604\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecouples.net\/living-spaces-and-places\/frida-kahlo-diego-rivera\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9604\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9604\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Frida-Kahlo-and-Diego-Rivera-400x266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-9604\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera on creativecouples.net<\/p><\/div>\n<p>You only need to ask yourself: Where would <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frida_Kahlo\">Frida Kahlo<\/a> have been without <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diego_Rivera\">Diego Rivera<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jackson_Pollock\">Jackson Pollock<\/a> without <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lee_Krasner\">Lee Krasner<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christojeanneclaude.net\/\">Christo without Jeanne-Claude<\/a>? Their contributions, more likely than not, were profoundly influenced by their connection \u2013 whether stormy or harmonious, direct or indirect, whether one existed in the others\u2019 shadow, or like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sonia_Delaunay\">Sonia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Delaunay\">Robert Delaunay<\/a>, they were equal partners in productivity and involvement with the art world.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9606\" style=\"width: 359px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yves_Tanguy\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9606\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9606 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2011\/12\/220px-Indefinite_Divisibility.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"349\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-9606\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Indefinite Divisibility by Yves Tanguy on wikipedia.org<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy had a relatively brief time together as a couple, and they made a point never to exhibit in the same space, with the exception of a 1954 show in which their work hung in the same museum but in separate galleries. In the exhibit at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davismuseum.wellesley.edu\/\">Davis<\/a>, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davismuseum.wellesley.edu\/whats-on\/current\/the-surreal-worlds-of-kay-sage-and-yves-tanguy\">Double Solitaire: The Surreal Worlds of Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy<\/a>,\u201d their paintings for the first time hang side by side.
