Herein, Lenssen, a Pensylvania Academy of the Fine Arts graduate, exhibits her lush abstractions and painterly realist canvases at Philadelphia&#8217;s Rosenfeld Gallery. I was born in Korea and have been exposed to Asian art all my life. I have always been impressed with its reverence for nature and by the vitality of its direct, spontaneous use of brush and ink. Something unconscious charts the process and the piece moves into unplanned, surprising directions. That\u2019s the part which really engages me. I feel painting should be an interactive process between painter and painting. With painting one has the opportunity to go inside oneself. One can uncover his or her unconscious or non-verbal intelligence, so to speak, and his or her unconscious sensibilities.
