Throughout history, learning basic art techniques has been more or less considered an essential part of a good education. \u00a0Whenever funding for these programs is cut, an organization appears to raise awareness and money to reverse the trend.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11968\" style=\"width: 407px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/product\/details\/9256\/Tools-of-the-Trade\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11968\" class=\" wp-image-11968 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Tools-of-the-Trade-by-Dana-Cooper.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"530\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-11968\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tools of the Trade by Dana Cooper on Zatista.com<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A big part of arts education in the schools (and at home) is providing the supplies with which young minds and hands can create art from their imaginations and from life. Many of these tools have changed over time, but apparently some have not.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11969\" style=\"width: 407px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Crayola\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11969\" class=\" wp-image-11969 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Crayola-64-352x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"452\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-11969\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Crayola 64 pack 2009 on Wikipedia.org<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nowadays you would think that young students are more likely to be doing all their schoolwork and artwork on a computer, so I was happy to read that Crayola crayons are still going strong after more than 100 years of production and they even include most of the same colors I recognize from my own childhood. Clearly, there is still a need and desire for this most basic of art supplies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_11970\" style=\"width: 409px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Crayola\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11970\" class=\" wp-image-11970 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.zatista.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Retired-Colors-300x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"532\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-11970\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Officially retired Crayola colors on Wikipedia.org<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to Wikipedia, \u201cAs the size of Crayola crayon packs increased from the original 1903 crayon packs, the variety of colors available has also increased\u00a0\u2014 reaching 120 colors by 1998. Since 1998, new colors have been added, but always replacing existing colors. In all, 13 colors have been retired, bringing the total number of regular colors produced since 1958 to 133.\u201d Looking at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_Crayola_crayon_colors\">list\u00a0of current colors<\/a> brings back memories.
